Metro Line 7 to link Guangzhou with Shunde

The west extension of Metro Line 7 will be open to passengers as early as next year, according to the latest notice released by Guangzhou Metro.
  
The metro line construction from Guangzhou South Railway Station to Beijiao Town in Shunde District of Foshan City was completed by the end of October this year. The maximum running speed is 80 kilometers per hour.

There are 8 stations in between, among which the Beijiao New Town Station is connected with Foshan Metro Line 3, Chencun Station with Guangfo Ring Line, and Chencun North Station with Foshan Metro Line 11, with a total length of 13.45 kilometers (1.65 kilometers in Guangzhou, and 11.8 kilometers in Shunde district).

If you get off at Chencun Station, you can go to a time-honoured restaurant just 1 kilometer away to taste the famous Chencun rice noodles, which is a traditional southern cuisine noted for its "light, fresh, tender, and smooth” flavor.

Shunde, one of the five districts in Foshan, is known for its local delicacies, such as, sashimi, double skin milk, deep-fried shrimp cake, and Chencun rice noodles among others.
  
Shunde sashimi, or Shunde yu sheng is a special fish dish served with sliced carrot, onion, garlic, lemon leaves, ginger, sliced crispy taro, soy with many other ingredients and dipped in a wasabi sauce.

Double skin milk, originated in Shunde, is a Cantonese dessert made of milk, egg whites, and sugar. There are two popular local brands: Renxin and Minxin.

As the second metro line to connect Guangzhou with Foshan, the west extension of metro line 7 is highly anticipated. Guangfo Metro, also known as Foshan Metro Line 1, was put into operation in 2010 with 25 stations in total.
