Shunde townsmen reminisced through world conference
On December 12, townsmen overseas or living in Hong Kong and Macao and representatives of the Worldwide Shunde Friendship Association were invited to the 2020 Online World Conference of Shunde on site, while other townsmen in different time zones and locations in the world joined the Conference by watching live videos. By 18:00 on December 12, more than 1.01 million people watched the live broadcast.
On that day, the "Shunde Worldwide Friendship Online Platform" specially created by the Shunde Friendship Worldwide Friendship Association was officially launched, dedicating to create a "24-7 online home" for overseas Shunde people, so that every townsman can learn about the development and changes of Shunde in real time, seize the development opportunities, and realize the purpose of maintaining friendship, discussing meeting affairs, and making decisions.
The opening ceremony of "Shunde Overseas Chinese Cantonese Cuisine Culture Promotion Association" and "Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Exchange and Promotion Center of Shunde Hong Kong-Macao City" was held as well. In addition, the Conference has also carried out the exchange of Shunde Worldwide Friendship Association, the release of talent introduction policy and the rural reconstruction industry project, and the promotion of Shunde Hong Kong-Macao City Project, etc.
Before the Conference, the Shunde Overseas Chinese Museum has opened at the Shunde Museum.
The Shunde Worldwide Friendship Association, as a big family of about 500,000 Shunde townsmen living all over the world, has been operated for 26 years. This year, Luo Weiman was elected Chief President of the Shunde Worldwide Friendship Association. According to the early vote and the resolution of the association leaders’ meeting, the 12th World Conference of Shunde Worldwide Friendship Association 2022 will be held in Shunde.
