On December 27, the third Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area "Cantonese Cuisine Chefs" Skills Competition and Cantonese Cuisine Cultural Exchange Activity officially kicked off at the Shunde OCT Harbour Plus in Foshan, which would promote the high-quality "Cantonese Cuisine Chefs" Project and Cantonese cuisine culture, strengthen the integration of Cantonese cuisine industries, and establish the cultural brand of "Cantonese Cuisine Chefs".
Based on the competition, the activity has created a Cantonese cuisine cultural feast for the public by connecting cultural display, industrial integration, live streaming and other elements, and giving full play to the agglomeration effect of "Cantonese cuisine chefs + commerce, tourism, culture and recreation".
Besides, the Cultural Exchange Activity was held at the same time. Theme areas of 21 regions and cities such as Featured Cantonese Cuisine Exhibition Area, Cuisine Display Area and Tasting Area, and Live Streaming Area have been set up at the Shunde OCT. The activity has greatly promoted Cantonese cuisine culture in an all-round way by integrating skills competition, cultural exchange, display performance, food experience and other elements.
Online live streaming is a new highlight of the activity, which has invited chefs from 21 cities to interact with citizens and netizens. Audiences could experience the charm of Cantonese cuisine culture by appreciating the culinary skills of "Cantonese chefs" from different regions, and learning about the skills of gourmet inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, along with some green ingredients, local specialties and delicious Cantonese cuisine.
Qiao Yu, Vice Mayor of Foshan, introduced that remarkable achievements have been made in the current construction of Foshans "Cantonese Cuisine Chefs" talent system, industrial system, standard system, and cultural system, "Foshan has established 34 provincial and municipal training bases and workshops for Cantonese cuisine chefs, and has carried out skills training for a total of 16,000 learners. 11 gourmet agglomeration areas, including Lingnan Tiandi in Chancheng and Yihai Gang in Nanhai, have been built, and 75 Cantonese famous cuisine restaurants and 131 Foshan famous dishes have been selected, which will help set up the map of Foshan cuisine gradually."
