The Jade Masters in Pingzhou, a documentary which features the craftsmanship and spirit of the jade sculptors in Foshans Pingzhou, was broadcasted on CCTV-10 at 9:20 pm on December 27th, and rebroadcasted at 9:17 am and 3:38 pm the next day.
  
Featuring the process of how raw gemstones become jade artworks, the film tells the stories of six jade masters and their precious stones in Pingzhou. Someone travels a thousand miles to find the right stone, someone declines a large fortune due to his respect for the raw gemstones, a single-eyed senior master favors defective jade, and a young sculptor is full of confidence and eager to prove himself. Pingzhou used to be a poor and backward fishing village in Foshan in the early 1980s. After about 40 years of development and reform and opening up, the district has developed into one of the four largest jade markets in China. It is now a major processing and production base for Burmese jade in China and one of the birthplaces of Chinas southern style of jade-carving. In 2014, Pingzhou Jade Ware Street was recognized as a 4A tourist destination.
  
The documentary is one of the three documentary films featuring Foshan Guichengs culture. The other two are "Lins Hong Quan" and "Dragon Boat", featuring the Chinese martial art Hong Quan and the Dragon Boat culture in Guicheng, Foshan.
