On January 20, the Midea Train of the China-Europe Railway Express successfully departed at the Guangdong International Railway Logistics Base (in Shilong, Dongguan). The train with 50 containers full of Mideas home appliances will travel 11,116 kilometers from Dongguan and arrive at the Vorsino Station in Moscow, Russia after 15 days. 

The relevant person in charge of Midea Group said that the Midea Special Train will help broaden the layout of Mideas international logistics channels, promote the construction of Mideas all-round and three-dimensional international logistics system, and provide more comprehensive logistics support for Midea’s overseas business development through the advantages of China-Europe Railway Express.

It is the first export train particularly served local home appliance enterprises after the China-Europe Railway Express has been operated in Guangdong. At present, due to the sustained impacts on international logistics caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, containers are stranded in Europe and the United States, and the international sea transportation cycle is blocked. In order to ensure the stability of the foreign trade supply chain, Sinotrans South China Co., Ltd. specially customized a special train for Midea Group to provide assistance for domestic foreign trade exports and the layout of overseas markets.

Despite the impacts of the epidemic, the overseas markets of Midea remained increasing. In the third quarter of 2020, the overseas orders of Midea have increased by more than 50%, and the export revenue has reached 23.5 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 18%.

In addition, Midea has signed a strategic cooperation and transport services framework initiative with China COSCO Shipping Group on January 21, which will carry out all-round cooperation in the fields of container transportation, overseas cooperation, warehousing resources sharing, etc.
