3 new metro lines to connect more regions in Foshan

Foshan will build the Phase II of Foshan Metro Line 2, Phase I of Line 4, and Line 11, with a total length of 115.8 kilometers, 61 stations and a total investment of 77.213 billion yuan, according to the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission issued on January 26.

    

After completion, five districts in Foshan will be reachable via the connection of metro, forming an urban railway network with six operating lines and a total length of 252.4 kilometers.

The Phase II of Foshan Metro Line 2 is a rapid railway line in the southwest of Foshan, connecting Gaoming, Xiqiao, Nanzhuang and other functional groups, which will strengthen the traffic connection between regional groups and downtown areas.

The Phase I of Line 4, an east-west main traffic line of Foshan, will connect Sanshui, Nanhai and Chancheng, and radiate key urban development areas such as Sanshui southwestern Groups, Shishan urban sub-center, high-speed railway hub of Foshan West Railway Station, etc.

As an important connecting line in the central part of Guangzhou-Foshan metropolis circle, Foshan Metro Line 11 will connect Daliang-Ronggui sub-center, Beijiao-Chencun group and Sanlongwan High-end Innovation Cluster, which will promote the construction of Guangzhou-Foshan "1+4" High-quality Integrated Development Pilot Zone and speed up the construction of the co-urbanization of Guangzhou and Foshan.
