According to Chancheng Office of Foshan Customs, it has supervised the export of 4,093 batches of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) ingredients in 2020, with a value of 487 million US dollars and a year-on-year increase of 152%, covering Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, the United States, Canada, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China) and other countries and regions.
With the increasing influence of TCM, the demands for TCM in the international market have greatly increased in recent years.
Foshan Yiqiao Haoren Trading Co., Ltd., an enterprise engaging in the export of TCM in Chancheng District, exports various kinds of TCM to Southeast Asia, North America and other regions.
"Last year, we received orders from customers in the UK and New Zealand. Foshan Customs not only provided us with technical support for the regulations and management of TCM in these two countries, but also conducted customs clearance procedures for us after working hours," said Guo Yanhe, manager of the company.
Chancheng Office of Foshan Customs has timely launched a series of measures to promote the facilitation of customs clearance. It promotes online customs clearance procedures via telephones and Internet, helps TCM exported enterprises finish remote declaration, and supervises the storage, quality and hygiene, and delivery of products online, which has realized the quality control and product traceability of exported TCM ingredients.
The office conducts risk analysis combined with the variety and characteristics of exported TCM ingredients and previous on-site quarantine experience, and carries out remote supervision for some varieties of TCM exported to Southeast Asia. After the staff obtained the order for system inspection, they will carry out remote supervision in real time, which will greatly improve work efficiency.
