At the foot of Xiqiao Mountain visitors now are not only greeted with fascinating scenery, but also sweet mulberries.
As it gets warm on the land of Nanhai District, Yugeng Yueyun Cultural Tourism Park takes us on a trip to explore the secret in Spring. The park is home to more than 330,000 square meters of mulberry-fish-pond and 20,000 mulberry trees.
Gentle breeze and nourishing raindrops this spring have bred a sea of lush mulberry trees. Sweet and juicy, the fruits look red with a touch of purple. Take a close look, you can notice branches, with a full load of mulberries, are bending down slowly.
Under green leaves there hides a handful of mulberries, trembling slightly in the wind. How inviting!
Take a bite, these ripe mulberries will immediately ooze with fresh juice before your lips might be colored in purple-red.
Both adults and children enjoy the yummy mulberries. Families are welcomed here to handpick your mulberries.
At Xiqiao Mountain, ripe mulberries mark the arrival of Spring every year.
Now, the 7th Silkworm Cultural Festival kicked off! The park is already full of bustling visitors.
Due to a low rainfall last winter and a warm temperature at the start of this year, the park yielded more sweet mulberries than ever.
The picking season will last from March to early May.
Apart from picking mulberries, visitors can get involved in other activities in the park. With a well-persevered style of Lingnan water village, boating on clear water and hiking on green mountains are also enjoyable.
