Known as a robotic competition with the most complete system and the largest number of participants, VEX Robotics Competition gathers up millions of young people from more than 40 countries every year. In 2016, it was included in the Guinness World Records for its number of participants, a record that was broken by itself again in 2018 with 1,648 competing teams.

Sponsored by Alibaba Sports Co., Ltd. and Asian Robotics Federation and put together by Robotation Academy Foshan and Dongguan Bosi Electronic Digital Technology Co., Ltd., this play-off marks a finale before the 2020-2021 VEX Robotic Online World Championships, where participants will be categorized into three groups - VEX IQ junior high school/primary school group (8-14 years old), VEX VRC Junior High School/High School Group (11-18 years old), VEX U University Group (18 years old and above).

Winners at VEX VRC junior high school/high school group and VEX IQ junior high school/primary school group will have the tickets to the 2020-2021 the US VEX Robot Online World Championships.

Spectacular events to be presented to promote robotics science

In addition to the exciting competitions, a summit education forum and robot carnival will be presented as an important platform for interested young people to practice, train and communicate. It is hoped that China will set off a new wave of intelligent manufacturing.

From 9:00 to 16:30 on April 10th, Foshan Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center (Room 201) will hold a summit forum on the theme of "New Capacities, New Engine in the Future - Development and Practice of Educational Robots in China"(“培养新能力,未来新引擎——中国教育机器人的发展与实践”) , which seeks to bring together professors on artificial intelligence, intelligent robots and education experts, along with primary and secondary school principals, science teachers and trainers, to share their insights on AI-powered robotics education.

Themed on "change, movement and thinking", the robot carnival is divided into two parts: a "research-oriented" competition and a display for robots and projects from other research institutes. Students and parents are allowed to experience first hand the benefits brought by robots in various events - "Smart Cell" Robot (programming and controlling modular robots), Two-handed "Drone" Operation (indoor + outdoor), AR Programming Experience (the physical experience of programming AR scenes) and a lot more.

Since the end of November 2019, the Asian Robotics League and Ali Sports have put together two VEX World Championships China Trials that have attracted more than 600 applicants all across China and more than 20,000 contestants. By leveraging its leading role in robotic competition, VEX will introduce more competitions to young people in China, as a way to deliver healthy and sustainable growth in robot science, education and competition.
