As summer approaches, everything in nature is blessed with a chance to grow. On fine days like these, Xiqiao Succulent Botanical Garden invites us to a trip for a leisurely and poetic life.

In recent years, succulent plants, with a "chubby" but adorable look, have become popular among flower lovers, and the most commonly seen indoor potted plants. Due to this craze for succulents, Xiqiao Succulent Botanical Garden has thus developed into a tourism hotspot in Foshan, which offers free entry and fair price. Now succulent lovers can take home one pot of succulent at a price as low as 5 yuan.

Over 100 kinds of succulent plants

For those first trying to grow succulents, the garden offers you various options that are easy to take care of.

Opuntia leptocaulis

The first choice for starters is "opuntia leptocaulis" (coral-shaped succulents) as it looks tall and thin in a well-proportioned emerald green body. Grown in dry environment, the plant doesnt need much care.

"Qi Luo" succulent plants

Next, "Qi Luo" succulent plants are also liked by many starters, with a nickname as "color-changing succulent". It has pointy leaves that look like lotus flowers. If it is cultivated with enough sunshine, the tip of leaves will turn increasingly red.

"Jade pendants"

Plus, you might also want to take a look at "jade pendants" adorned with "emeralds". Not a fan to sunlight, they only need to be watered once in half a month.

For those who have grown succulent plants before, they can also come here to design, mix and graft their own "pots".

Cactus are easy to grow and suitable for grafting. Different shapes of cactus can be grafted together to create new pots, which are often placed on a desk for viewing.

In addition, succulent plants with smaller size can also match with mushroom-shaped models and colored stones. Put them in your favorite pots, and you get a small landscaping potted plant.

A succulent lover built a kingdom of plants

As a succulent fan long before, Liu Xiaohua, the owner of Xiqiao Succulent Botanical Garden started to build the garden in 2015, and now it has expanded to over 3,000 square meters.

"The most important thing for growing succulents is patience. You should know about the features of different varieties, such as their preference in light and temperature." Liu shared her thought on planting. The temperature in Foshan is mild in winter, which is more favorable for succulents than hot summer. At present, the succulents grown by Liu Xiaohua are mainly sold locally in Foshan.
