Foshans first TOEFL test center opens next month
On May 17th, Guangdong Shunde Desheng School hosted an opening ceremony for its TOEFL test center. As the school was certified as a "TOEFL Online Test Center" by Educational Testing Service (hereinafter referred to as "ETS") and approved by Chinas Ministry of Education, it has become the very first TOEFL test center in Foshan that opens for all examinees.

Reportedly, TOEFL is an ETS-developed test that targets at ones academic English language proficiency, featuring four sections (listening, speaking, reading and writing), to measure how well examinees apply linguistic skills when tasked in an academic language environment. The exam results are submitted as a supporting material for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants. So far, TOEFL has been recognized by 11,000 comprehensive universities, colleges and institutions in more than 150 countries.
Till now, Guangdong is home to 9 TOEFL test centers. Built on the basis of safety and comfort, the brand-new TOEFL test centers at Desheng are designed with 4 test rooms, with 24 test seats at each room and a spacious waiting area. The first test will be held on June 5.
As shared by Shang Xuebing, Director of Foshan Bureau of Education, taking a TOEFL test is not easy, and so is finding a testing center. This one at Desheng will not only benefit students at the school itself, but also all the others in Shunde District and Foshan as a whole. In the coming future, Foshan will continue with its active exploration in international education that drives more quality for Foshans education.
