The Perseids are one of the brightest meteor showers of the year, which occurs every year between July 17 and August 24 and tends to peak around August 9 to 13. As estimated, the Perseids this year will peak at 3 a.m. on August 13, with about 110 meteors per hour.

As long as the sky is clear enough tonight, we can have an excellent shooting star viewing experience.

In the solar system, there are lots of rocks and dusts. As they enter the earth, they would cause extreme friction against the atmosphere under gravity, before a high rise of temperature leads to shining lights or so-called meteor.

Some meteor showers occur occasionally, and sometimes they showed up in large groups on an annual basis with roughly the same time and place. The Perseids is well-known as one of the most active and spectacular meteor showers.

In order to have a pleasant viewing experience, you can lie down on a cushion or chair in areas away from lights with good visibility. The Perseids usually appear as colored green or reddish meteors. Most of them are bright meteors, with occasional fire meteors.

The number of Perseids is not always consistent. In history, the peak of the Perseids since the start of the 21st century reached at 100 per hour at its prime.
